Congratulations!!

* Jim Doyle - Huge, huge win. Mark Green and John Gard in one fell swoop!
* Judy Robson - The best
* Mike Sheridan - Easy win with labor support
* Tammy Baldwin - Power ranking? Smower cranking
* Bob Spoden - Earned it
* Jenifer Keach - Was Doyles choice. Now the peoples choice

Our country still has a chance. This will be a big test on the Democrats for the next two years.

Locally, my biggest disappointment was the failure to displace Debi Towns. Kim Hixson put up a great fight, with a difference of 6 votes, there should be a recount. Paul Ryan keeps fooling people.

The "No" vote on the Janesville school referendum put up some very good numbers considering the lack of organizaton. The residents of Janeville have nothing to complain about when that property tax bill comes in. But probably the worst of it is the idea that my fellow Wisconsinites have elected to write discrimination into our state constitution. This should be challenged in the courts. Too bad. Can't have everything.

The county electorate has spoken; Jenifer Keach is the person they trust in the coroner's office. Her landslide victory speaks loudly that voters in this county want to elect their coroner. It's time for the local news media to wake up and start writing the news instead of dictating our politics.

I just need to tell people hold on to your pocketbooks. The demorats are going to raid you again and raise your taxes. I hope they actually don't but, history says they will. The people have spoken and marriage is between one man and one woman. The Wisconsin constitution is stronger now.

i looked at this site and you have nothing wrote about hixson. how come?

Hixsons campaign got very little print in Rock County, and that should have been a tip-off to me. This blog is a labor of love and unfortunately, most of my attention is paid to written distortions.

I agree, Hixon and Falks loss were the big stunners for me. Hixon did an amazing job for a first timer and I believe he deserved it. I'm not sure what happened to Falk. The election came off as odd to me though, meaning the vote went Dem but the referendums passed. But just because the ban on gay marriage and the death penalty passed, that does not mean they will get enacted. There is still hope for people.
A side note to Keach's victory, you'll notice in the Gazette, Farrell bashed her yet again. Trying to take credit for her actually writing a policy on meds where there was none previously. He's trying to say that he didn't intend to win, he just wanted certain issues brought up. Yeah, right. Also Haverley was at least professional enough to call and congratulate Keach, Brad never did. Sore loser if you ask me. He needs to grow up. Now wonder John Stanley, the Dane County Coroner and one of the people involved in the selection process when they appointed Maybee and then Keach, said "Brad Farrell is to immature for the job". And did you notice how they are not 'drugs' anymore they are medications now. Fact is 99% of what they collect is non-narcotic, it's stuff like blood pressure meds, insulin, inhalers, heart meds etc... Looks like the Gazette along with the Pres. gets to eat some crow for a change.

Kim Hixson is now listed as the winner. That race is so close that until there is a recount, I would not try to call it. That said, I know Kim and he is a great guy. He ran a hard, honest campaign and deserves to win.

Anonymous said...

That's great!!! I hope he does get it. I've met him a few times and he is truely a great guy. I was remiss in my 9:17 post about Janis Ringhand. I wish she would have won as well. Great, great lady. Personally doing over 19,000 doors is something all the candidates should do. This Dem class is an awesome bunch that really cares and listens to the people.

Anonymous said...

I think the amendments passed and the dems won is because most democrats are working class people with morals and values and know that marrige is a union between one man and one woman. The unions also tell the people who to vote for and Rock county is a big union county. I also believe that most people agree if someone who commits a terrible crime and is proven to be guilty by dna shouldn't have the right to live not having to worry about paying bills or worrying about where their next meal is coming from. The death penalty should be reinstated and the person should only have three appeals. If they still are quilty after the third appeal they should be put to death within 30 days of the last appeal.

Falk losing was really puzzling. I heard somewhere that out-of-state money and people were poured into Van Hollens campaign.

Not to take anything from the other candidates, but a Hixson win will be a huge boost for Democrats in Rock County. I won't get excited until it becomes official.

This DNA stuff has gotten huge publicity for accuracy, etc. But as evidence it is not 100% fool-proof and it can be planted.

Let's hope JB Van Hollen investigates Doyle and his shaky state no bid deals. If Falk would have gotten in she shirley wouln't even investigate the troll.

Maxx, just because the unions tell people who they endorse doesn't mean they are going to vote for them. The endorsed Peg and she lost. People can make up their own minds you know.

Anonymous said...

Peg was a lost cause for the democrats they knew the drunk driving was a huge hole to come out of. Then why do unions endorse people if they think their workers can think for themselves? They do it because they think the canidate will help the union.

Anonymous said...

Everyone is a special interest Maxx. Why does the Gazette endorse and actually try to influence the elections by their wording on stories and out right deceptions? Same reasons.

Anonymous said...

An endorsement isn't actual backing finacially of a person. The unions pour millions of dollars into democratic canidates coffers. I don't think the gazette finacially backs canidates. It's a totally different animal.

Anonymous said...

They support them with the power of their presses. Its still an animal.

Anonymous said...

You can also buy press time.

Anonymous said...

Can you buy endorsements?

Anonymous said...

If your a republican it's pretty much a shoe in with the Gazette. Very rarely do they endorse a dem, unless you have a really weak opponent or are in a situation where they don't have a choice for various reasons. Since that rag started you can probably count on one hand the dems they've endorsed. Not that their endorsement carries much weight anyway, with most people that is. The Gazette won't back anyone unless they have a vested interest in it. They don't care if the person will do good or not, only if it will do them good or not.

I know ONE THING and that is KEACH ONLY won BECAUSE she HAD a "D" next to her name. NOT because SHE was quilified to be coronor.

Anonymous said...

She is obviously qualified to do it. She has been doing it and continues to do it. Everyone seems to be happy with the way she's doing it, law enforcement, funeral homes, the County Board, the Courthouse, County Administration, and almost 60% of the voting public. That means she also got some of the Republican vote. So I guess they think she's qualified too. She recieved almost double of Farrell and 4 times the amount that Haverley recieved. The totals of Haverley and Farrell combined couldn't have beat her either. I'd say the 'D' didn't matter.

Anonymous said...

Haverly is way more experianced than Keach. It's to bad that the people of Rock County have to settle for a lesser qualified person.

Anonymous said...

Haverley's qualifications are not in question. She is no more or less qualified than Keach although she has no medical knowledge which I think this position should have. What is in question is her integrity and professionalism. Her knowledge of a felony for at least 2 years while doing nothing about it and her various "other" activities have doomed her in this county. She will have a very difficult time getting any position "of authority" in this county, ever. Having a degree in Criminal Justice and being a police officer should have given her a clue that what was going on was illegal. If it was as open as she said it was, then she knew about it for what 4 years then? Her safest bet would be to get as far away as possible and hope her past doesn't follow.

Anonymous said...

If it was integretity that dictated the election then Doyle should have been beaten. He is the most ethnically challenged gov. we have ever had in this state. Haverly would have won if she would have ran as a democrat. She diffently would have given Keach a battle in the primary.

Anonymous said...

Haverley is not a Dem she's a Repub, so she never would have ran as one. She would have never gotten the backing of either party. She should have ran as a Repub and had a primary against Farrell but the Repub's didn't want anything to do with her either. Supervisor Peer saw to that, he was the head of the party. Farrell was the lesser 'tainted' of the two. Peer knows that almost the entire county admin ie: supervisors, law enforcement, courthouse, etc.. want nothing do to with Haverley. She has an impressive resume but she is ruined in this county by her actions and inactions with the Gilbertson fiasco.

Anybody know if Hixon won yet? I saw he was still ahead in the count as of Friday.

Anonymous said...

Democrats have no integretity. Doyle is the most ethnically challeged Gov. this state has ever had. He's under federal investigation for his actions.

Anonymous said...

The results of Keach's actions in her backyard didn't seem to hurt her. She seemed to dance around that pretty good.

Anonymous said...

Why would it? It wasn't illegal. That was just the Gazette, Adam Peer/Brad Farrell trying to make something out of nothing. Rumor had it that Brad was promised the job and then Terry Maybee got it. When he saw how bad they left it, he left too. Then Ms.Keach was appointed, again, over Brad. Adam/Brad/Gazette were doing everything they could to keep a Dem outta there.

Anonymous said...

JUST STUPID.

Anonymous said...

I think we all agree the Gazette IS stupid. The elections are over and they can go back to hounding former police officers and pushing their own agenda.

Anonymous said...

No one ever accused Keach of being the brightest star in the sky. Actions speack louder then words and her actions were a sign of her poor decisssion making. It may someday be that bad decission making that will hurt a loved one from a grieving family member.

Anonymous said...

You mean to say actions like sitting on a felony for at least 2 years was better? Affairs don't hurt people? Get over it the election is finished.

Anonymous said...

I would have to say Haverlys and Farells actions were far worse. And yeah the elections are over, they both lost. Time to move on.

Anonymous said...

2:28am, hmmmmm bar time? HAW

Anonymous said...

It seems Keach is going to have another drug party to celebrate her election win. Will there be a burning of drugs in the backyard?

Anonymous said...

Right, she is having a party, a party with county board members, law enforcement and others that helped her to beat you and Brad, to celebrate the holidays and her victory. Get over it, you lost. Your just looking really bitter and childish now. And you wanted to be an official? Grow up.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like loads of butt kissing maybe going on. I hope they will supply kneepads at the door.

Anonymous said...

A win for Keach is a lose for the citizens of Rock County.
