Bush warns enemies - Democrats are coming

If you missed the televised press conference today at the White House, you’ve missed a lot of nasty rhetoric and contradictory statements told none other than by the “uniter” himself. After pretending to sound reconciliatory towards the Democrats, he made this statement during his speech:

“Amid this time of change, I have a message for those on the front lines: To our enemies, do not be joyful. Do not confuse the workings of our democracy with a lack of will. Our nation is committed to bringing you to justice. Liberty and democracy are the source of America's strength, and liberty and democracy will lift up the hopes and desires of those you are trying to destroy.
To the people of Iraq: Do not be fearful.
As you take the difficult steps toward democracy and peace, America's going to stand with you. We know you want a better way of life, and now is the time to seize it.
To our brave men and women in uniform: Don't be doubtful.
America will always support you.”

Well said Mr. President. The enemy knows that democrats are weak on national security.

Isn't it amazing that Iran applauded the election results? Coincidence? I doubt it. They know the weakness of the democratic party. They know the democrat aren't real serious about national security.

Isn't it odd that the democtas won on no actual plan? They are so deivide over almost ever issue ( except raising taxes) and the American people fell for it. Mostly because the democrats ran on mostly conservative issues. Don't be fooled it was just a front. They will show their true colors in a few months from now.

Did you see the press conference? The press corp finally got to ask the questions they've been afraid to ask. I found it odd that W stated "The message yesterday was clear: The American people want their leaders in Washington to set aside partisan differences, conduct ourselves in an ethical manner, and work together to address the challenges facing our nation.". None of which have they done since they gained power. Another thing, Rummy. I was sitting here with my wife watching the news about the House and Senate changing hands and I asked her "Do you think they will get rid of Rumsfeld now?" and not 10 minutes later they did. This, after just a few days ago saying that he will not be leaving. The press and reporters on all the news channels were grinning from ear to ear knowing that the next 2 years will be a press feeding frenzy. I see alot of investigations coming down the pipe on what W and his cronies have been doing. I bet on the night of the 7th there was alot of shredding going on.

Maybe W can hire Sandy Berger to rob the archives and stash them in his pants.

Remember, this is a president who claims he pays "NO ATTENTION TO THE POLLS".

I'm not sure what poll said that Rumsfeld should go. Please put a link on it. I guess I misssed that one.

How about the ELECTION POLLS, Max. Have you been sleeping since Monday. The elections are polls too, look it up!

Rumsfeld wasn't running for any position. So, you still haven't answered the question.

Lou Kaye said...

You imply that the polls(elections) had no influence on Rumsfeld getting canned. I imply it did, and our President finally got the message and reluctantly canned him. Which is odd because this is a president who swears he doesn't pay attention to the polls.

Rumsfeld could care less about the polls, you're right, he's not running for anything, but the polls apparently made a difference to the president.

Had the Republicans held on to their positions, Rumsfeld would still be the man.

You must feel that the presidents decisions since Tuesday are merely coincidences.

Here's a link that quotes a wide variety of people who have been suggesting that Rumsfeld should be canned or resign. Rumsfeld must go Again, the President ignored everyone and stood by Rumsfeld. Until Tuesday.

Who has a need for someone like Sandy Berger to hide archival information, when the president could just run a black marker through anything he feels like.

What Clinton lost his marker?

Rumsfeld was a lightning rod for this administration. I do believe that history will be much more kinder to Rummy than the press has been. He has served this country very honorably. Much better than Janet Reno.

Rumsfeld was hated by the liberals. He was a military man who used force. The liberals would rather talk out a conflict rather than fight. Even when it comes to terrorism. Appeasement doesn't work with terrorism.

I'm hiding my wallet from the democrats they can't seem to leave my pocketbook alone. It only took Dolye one day to take more money away from me.

Ooooh stop. We are still adjusting to a Republican economy. As long as they keep shortchanging Fed funds to the states, our local fees and taxes will keep going up and up and up, no matter who is governor.

Anonymous said...

And it didn't take long for the lefties to blame the tax hikes on republicans. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!1

Anonymous said...

I could use a good laugh myself. Tell me exactly.....who do you blame tax hikes on, and why? Democrats? They haven't been in charge for over twelve years, until next month.

Anonymous said...

What tax hikes have republicans been involved in?

Lou Kaye said...

ALL of our local taxes, higher license fees, the introduction of tollways, sales taxes, point of use taxes are all responses to the Republican driven mismanagement of our Federal tax/appropriations system.

Local taxes are mostly brought upon by the voter. Rock county being a democratic county I guess you could say it's been brought up by democrats. Higher licenses fees are at the state level and I do believe that a democrat has been in that office for the past four years. He's got the veto pen. The last say in it all. I do believe he is the one who has been pushing for higher "fees". I do believe he is the one who raided the transportation fund to "balance" the budget. That looks like mis management to me, And he's a democrat.

All tax hikes, fee's, and any other new revenue raising inventions are adjustments that must happen as a result of 12 solid years of Republican legislative rule and a "cut taxes at all cost" program embedded within our psyche. It is a historical cycle, Republicans cut taxes and bleed the treasury dry, people eventually see the huge hole and vote the democrats in to fix the problem. That is why Democrats have been wrongly accused of programs that raise taxes. They are just doing what must be done to repair the damage done by Republicans. Anonymous 6:33 said it best.

It;s called spending what you have. Living beneath your means. Working within a budget. Democrats think they can just tax us and continue to tax us and set-up new programs and raise fee's among us. Now they want to raise the cigarette tax to $1.00 a pack to pay for health issues. It's just more revenue they can spend. Doyle can't wait to have his democrats in control he can tax the snot out of us and get away with it. Lie, cheat and steal the way of the demoratic party.

That goes for the Republican party as well.
