Anybody But Ryan

Rep. Paul Ryan has proven himself to be a loyal defender and enabler of the Bush agenda. According to Ryan, the Bush taxcuts for the wealthy are responsible for the recent growth in Federal tax revenue and a growing economy. However, flush with taxcut dollars, Ryan’s expanding economy and corporate handouts can’t even muster the confidence to vote a “stand on its own” minimum wage increase. Combine this taxcut with the failure to raise the Federal minimum wage for low income workers, the unjustified war in Iraq, the plan to destroy Social Security by defunding and discouraging participation, writing loopholes protecting business interests at the expense of employee pensions, drilling in ANWAR under the guise of reduced energy prices, weakening environmental laws to help keep corporate costs down at the expense of public health, the slow and ineffective response to domestic crisis(Katrina), it just goes on and on. Ryan not only supports this and voted for these bills, but has actually co-authored some of them.

Recently, Paul Ryan ambitiously conformed to the will of the executive branch of government authoring an earmark bill that empowers the president to cherry-pick appropriations. Bush has demonstrated over and over again he is above the law, exempting himself over 800 times from compliance of Constitutional bills and laws. America needs change and new leadership and the best time is now during the mid-term elections. Ryan has been a willing and useful tool for the worst president ever. Why would anyone want more of the same?

Paul Ryan has been winning the seat for the 1st Congressional District of Wisconsin with up to 65% of the vote. Oftentimes he has been chosen despite overwhelming support for democratic candidates in other races on the same ticket, which would imply that he has bi-partisan support. Don’t be fooled again, our countries poor overall performance is directly linked to those who have rubber-stamped President Bush’s initiatives and ideas, Ryan is right at the top. Congress has been voting along party lines since the great “uniter” was elected. Most of the bills and protections for the people have failed simply because of the incompetence and corporate mindset of Republicans. We can do better with anyone else.

President Bush and his rubberstamp Congress have heaped mountains of debt onto the backs of our children and grandchildren, racking up a string of annual deficits, including the current $296 billion debt - the fourth largest deficit in history. The public trust is being sold out for the sake of economic expansion and privitization. I urge the people of southern Wisconsin to stand up for their Democratic principles. Ryan stands for everything that has gone wrong in America for the past 6 years, and voting for Ryan while ignoring reality does not balance the political conscience under these circumstances no matter of how nice of a guy they think he is. If there ever was a time to seriously consider voting a straight Democratic party ticket, this is it.

I don't think Thomas has much of a chance against Ryan.

Do we really want a nut case like Dr. Thomas to make our decissions in Washington? I know I wouldn't vote for Thomas.

"Anybody but Ryan" means anybody, even Dr. Thomas would would serve us better. Ryan's got big corporate money and interests backing him up, if he had $20,000 and his record to rely on, he would lose "big time."

The democrats can't come up with a better canidate then Dr. Thomas? I mean this guy has challenged Ryan how many times? And the democrats can't find anyone better? There has to be someone better then Thomas. You complain about corporate sponsorship backing Ryan. Well how about all the union membership backing democrats? I'm sure the UAW funnels all kinds of money into the democrats coffer. Always an excuse from the democrats when they loose.

ktDr. Thomas seems to be more a republican than a democrat. He supports the Bush war in Iraq just like Ryan. He won the primary because Republicans voted for him. They know he can't win.

Dr. Thomas a republican that's funny. Just because he supports the war in Iraq. There are plenty of democrats who actually support the war in Iraq it's the looney lefties that don't like any type of war. The liberal lefties that think terrorists are alright and aren't really a threat to us.

Supporting Bush or his Iraq war could be the kiss of death for any politician. I think liberals want a strong defense and a functioning national security along with real planning for victory. Not the ill advised and mismanaged operation we have now.

What war has gone acordding to plan? A strong defense? Is that why Clinton cut the military by 45% because he wanted a strong national security. GIVE ME A BREAK. Liberals and national security aren't compatible.

Bush has claimed "Mission Accomplished" and constantly reminds us that the "liberal" press never shows all the good news from Iraq. So far the invasion of Iraq has gone according to the Bush plan. The last I heard he was still president. He's still staying the course and calling the shots. When are you people going look at yourselves and stop blaming Clinton. Get over it, already.

The "shock and awe" campaign was conducted by a Clinton military. Unfortunately, after that Bush's people took over and we now are enlisting 42 year-olds. GO-GO BUSH!

I'm generalizing here, but it's safe to say that corporations are for investor profits and unions are for workers/laborers. Big difference, regardless of how much money is given to whom. The important thing is from which entity did the pol receive money from? I'll vote for the candidate with union support 99 out of a 100 times, unless by some wild fluke (pigs flying, Earth stands still, I win the lotto)the union supports a Republican, then I'll vote for the Democrat.

Republicans and Bush are strong on National Security and Defense. Todays Headlines are all Clintons fault!

Yeah that's the main stream media for you. You may want to read the whole story and not just the headlines. The extended tours are for one more month. Everybody has a opinion on Rumsfeld that's nothing new and irrelevant their are retired generals that support him. Weak arguement at best.
