Messenger: Lefties are terrorists

This weeks July 26th Mess Newsmaker column amounted to a campaign ad for Republican Fred Yoss. The Messenger will give Democrats print when they receive awards but give others free publicity just by being Republican. On top of the Yoss column in their InBrief article, the Messenger announced that Debi Towns won the Agriculture award, the same award Mike Sheridan won last week. But the paper did not give her the same treatment they gave Sheridan. No mention that she is a Republican and no mention of challengers for her office in this years election. So for the record, two Democrats will face off in the primary to challenge Republican Bush supporter Debi Towns. Whitewater City Councilman Kim Hixson, and UW-Whitewater graduate assistant John T. Stellmacher(Stellmacher withdrew 8-2-06).
I rest my case.
JM editorial (condensed):
Delusional apologists for Islamists terror…………appeasing terrorists….is an absolute guarantee of further violence. Islamist leaders and their enablers on the American left……. Would that the American left finally see Islamist fascism for what it is.

Rock netroots Why parse these words? The Janesville Messenger editor should just come out and say……….that liberals/democrats and anyone else who thinks our president made matters worse in the middle-east are terrorists. Events happening in the middle-east today are a direct result of the hubris foreign policy of George W. Bush, so why complain about left-wing peace keepers? Their July 22nd editorial offered no solutions except to state that the millennial Israeli/Palestinian crisis needs more bombs. This is pretty heavy stuff coming from what appears to be a friendly community shopping newspaper. Ever since 9-11, I’ve become more suspicious of anyone who wants to impose the will of their God on others and I’m beginning to see the Messenger for what it really is…….. a front for radical right-wing American fascism.

If they print that they are running for an office, they legally need to give equal treatment to all candidates, but not mentioning anything about the office, they get around this. Tricky!

There is a fine line between the difference of what appears to be genuine news and campaign literature. The Messenger crosses it often and the Gazette only slightly less.
