What hypocrites you are. Barrett has the right to spew his hatred of America to young minds at taxpayers expense, but you won’t print Ann Coulter’s column. Oh, that’s right , she loves this country; can’t have that.
Rock netroots Can anybody attest to anothers true hatred or love of America? It’s not so much about the love or hate either, as much as it is that everyone seems to have a different opinion on what America really is. Some equate the presidency as America, while others equate the people and still others show their love by buying American.
As far as Ann Coulter is concerned, and I may be alone on this one, but I believe she is one of the best things Democrats/liberals have on the other side. Like the Gazette, she claims to be a conservative, although to this day, I have yet to see what they conserve. They are more accurately anti-liberal. But more importantly, Democrats view Coulter as the feminine voice of the Republicans and if you really have read her work it doesn’t take long to figure where she is coming from. Much of her philosophy is built on irrational logic, hate, quasi-Christianity and racism, and generally worded to flamebait those who oppose her. She is the ultimate queen troll.
The Gazette is a media institution with a Republican agenda so they don’t need someone like Coulter to push those sitting on the fence to the left, I believe that is why they canceled her, to protect (in their view) their interests. Michelle Malkin is more their speed. The Gazette on the other hand has the Molly Ivins column, who is probably the premier expert on George W. Bush and his administration, she is brilliant, uses mild sarcasm occasionally and has sound principles. The Gazette only wish someone like Ivins was on their side. Malkin doesn’t come close. I have called in twice to the Gazette Sound Off column asking them to reconsider Ann Coulter for these reasons. She is just what we need in Rock County to further explain what the conservative movement is all about.
