Consortium News Excerpt:Why the ruckus? If bin laden and his murderous religio-fanatics view liberals and the liberal culture as their sole and mortal enemy, I hate to use an old cliché but, I will wear it (liberalism) as a badge of honor.
Dinesh D’Souza, a fellow at the conservative Hoover Institution at Stanford University, has raised a ruckus in his new book The Enemy at Home. In the book, he contends that the 9/11 attackers were motivated by neither U.S. foreign policy abroad nor by a hatred of U.S. freedom, as President Bush has repeatedly argued.
Instead, D’Souza declares that Osama bin Laden hates the liberal U.S. culture that promotes contraception, abortion, and homosexuality. In a recent op-ed piece in the Washington Post defending the book, D’Souza says that he doesn’t “hate America.” No, he just hates liberal America and is reprehensibly trying to use the horrible 9/11 attacks to score points against the Democrats of the Left.
Dinesh D,Souza shot himself in the foot by announcing his hatred for the same American culture that bin Laden hates. When D,Souza and his kind exclude themselves from the reasons why Bin Laden attacked America, they put themselves on the same side with America’s enemy. Bin Laden(and D,Souza) has no greater enemy than the purveyors of the American Revolution and the culture of personal liberty and freedom from religion its ancestors continue to fight for today. Since the right can’t face up to the fact that imperialism supported by their own brand of religious fanaticism has inspired suicidal maniacs to crash airplanes into our buildings, they must lay blame elsewhere.
The left should be extremely proud to be on the opposite side from that of bin Laden, and I would like to thank Dinesh D,Souza for pointing that out.

I would have to disagree with the author's assesment. Why would Bin Laden hate the left? He was able to conduct his mission when the left was in control of the Whhitehouse. He was able to train his men in America while Clinton was in office. The left doesn't believe in the NSA and thinks it should be banned. They don't believe in racial profiling of airplane passengers. Even though the hijackers were all of middleeastern disent and were between the ages of 21 and 35. No they would rather pat down 90 year old grandmothers who could be a terrorist suspect. Terrorist aren't an enemy in the eyes of the left. They are just misunderstood people who have problems and they think we can talk out the problems with these people. The right takes the fight to them. Bin Laden is either dead or stuck in some cave running for his life. The taliban is out of control in Afganistan. The terrorists are fleeing to Iraq to try and hold on to a middleastern country where they can train their men and run freely. I think Bin Laden would much rather have a democratic President in office. Don't be so blind Bin Laden hates democracy and what it stands for. He may dislike a political party more than the other but, he truly hates Americans in general.
The last thing Islamic Fundamentalists want is a Dem President and diplomacy. They find peace is followed with truckloads of western culture such as playboy books, poker cards, condoms, baseball games and Hollywood just to name a few. Denish explains that bin Laden hates this dilution of their religious fundamentalism more than dropping bombs on them. Bombs re-inforce and fuel their opposition. You call it taking the fight to them - they love it!!!
To take this a step further, the middle-east and Iraq are not ready for democracy because their hatred has not been diluted enough by western culture. This of course is assuming that we (America) accept the responsibility that attempting to change their culture is not only right but within our jurisdiction. The murderous Saddam Hussein was probably the best catalyst to work with to bring modernity to Iraq. Afterwards, Iraqis would have understood freedom better and toppled him on their own. In fact, Hussein was weak and willing to talk, Bush said no. Now we have a democratically elected shi-ite in an Iraq that has not been diluted enough. I would rather drop books on them than bombs.
maxx..maxx..maxx, he may have been able to train his people while Clinton was in office but who controled the House and Senate? Gee, do you think that maybe he's still training his people now that W's in office? I'd bet he has trained more. It was also pulled off while your beloved W was in office, while they controlled the House and Senate. I'm not saying Clinton is innocent in all this, he screwed up to. But if your going to argue at least think about what your saying. Blaming Clinton and the Dems alone for one of the biggest intelligence screw ups ever is just wrong. I thought you were smarter than that. It must be nice to live in your world where everything is black and white, the blame and the bad guys lie with whomever you don't like and just parks itself right in front of you to point at. Hey, whatever makes you feel better.
i saw this guy disnesh on c-span. he wont go back to his conservative religious india because he does much better in liberal america. he's a bigger hipocrite than rush or o'reilly.
Ditto, ditto, ditto it's the President's choice to confront terrorism. The house and senate aren't the people who make the final choice in the matter.I'm sure he's training people still that's what a terrorists does duh. They recruit loyalists to the cause. I don't feel better because of the lefts screw ups. I feel that Clinton and the 8 years policed terrorists and actually didn't do anything about it. He was afraid of conflict and his image and legacy. Which now shows hurt the American people.
