Everybody Won

If you have been surfing the political blogosphere and certain mainstream news outlets, it becomes apparent that although everybody knows the Republicans lost big time, there appears to be a widespread deformation building up as to who won.

Right out of the gate, the Conservatives say they won, while centrists say they won, and Independents too claim they were big winners. Others have said minorities won and the reformers did too. Many have concluded that anti-war activists won and bloggers also claim victory. Bush implies the terrorists won, while still others say morals and values won, optimists say everybody won.

Somebody won if you listen to everybody, everybody else except the people who deserve the credit, you know, those dastardly heathen Democrats.

I would say the people won more than anything. This was a major rebuke of King W and his cronies. The "your with us or against us" mentality shouldn't have included his own people, but it did and now he's paying for it.

I wholeheartedly agree. But unfortunately we live in a competitive based society and the first thing we talk about are the winners. Everybody of course, wants to be one.

The democrats won because most moderates voted for the democrats. The democrats who took over republican seats ran on mostly conservative ideas. Cutting taxes, immigration etc. the democrats can't win if they actually run on liberal ideas such as raising taxes. If they don't say what they have promised it will be a short run for them.
