I happened to be watching WISC-TV Channel 3 when they ran a great piece about how Gov. Jim Doyle is being
targeted swiftboated by the Republican Party. News 3's political reporter Colin Benedict analyzes the latest ad in the race for governor, and literally tears apart all of the lies and deception used against Doyle. The very best part is at the end, where Becker said the board is looking into one case in which Philadelphia-based attorney Richard Schiffrin gave $10,000 to Doyle after meeting with a top Doyle aide. Schiffrin wanted state business, but didn't get the contract.
That's just too funny. Lets investigate Doyle because someone donated $10,000 to his campaign and they found out he's
NOT on the take.
The Ethics Board is just looking to see if any promises were made in exchange for campaign donations.
WISC-TV also found, to say the Ethics Board is investigating a "widening" scandal on Doyle is inaccurate. Read article

They haven't gotten any business from the state YET. Doyle isn't that stupid to go about giving someone stste business after he and his administration are under federal investigation.
I'll take a shot at Jim Doyle. It seems some more bad news for Jim Doyle came out today. It seems that the median income for the state of Wisconsin dropped by $2226 to $45,956. The third worst in the country. Why has this happened? I have some ideas. It seems that people that are making good money don't want to stay in this state because of the taxes. Businesses don't want to locate here because they can get sued for something they have no control over. It seems that when Jim Doyle wants to take credit for things he needs to take credit for the short comings as well. Wisconsin isn't a good climate for people wanting to start up a business and create jobs here. Also, unemployment went up in this state for the month of July it went up to 6.7% from 5.2%.
The falling median income topic that has been all over the news today can't be blamed on Doyle alone. Last year the Midwest as a whole dropped in median income. The economy in the Midwest is in trouble because the factories that dominated the region and provided decent wages are ancient history. Blame free trade not individual governors.
I'm sorry I meant the Midwest saw its median income fall in last years results (the 2004 data).

I tend to agree with this because, you can't blame Doyle for the weather. The cost of natural gas and electric have skyrocketed for everybody, but the brutal winters could have a major impact on profits, particularly for giant warehouse/factory high ceiling requirements. I also think that as much as they talk about incomes rising, its not keeping up with inflation, and I have to blame a lot on Bush and his support of Free Trade agreements. We're not done yet either, our incomes will continue to spiral down relatively speaking, while much of the globes wages will rise.
I also think Doyle's second term will address the issues about senior pension taxes, graduate flight, new jobs to replace outsourced jobs and possibly an increasing independent energy Wisconsin. Doyle is just one man, so far he has not let me down.
No but you can blame the President for the weather. Double standards as always.
Bush supports a wild west economic plan that kills the environment for the sake of profits, weather included. I don't blame him for the hurricanes, but I do blame him for what transpired after the local governments in the south were wiped out.
Blame him for the local governments? What are you saying that the local governments in the south can't take care of themselves? It's up to the local governments to call in the federal governments. The only problem in the south during Katrina was New Orleans a welfare city a city and state run by democrats for 40 years. Democrats always looking to point the finger at someone else and not being able to accept responsibility upon themselves.
When local governments fall for any reason, welfare, terror attack, act of God, whatever...... its up to the Federal government and its commander-in-chief to secure the safety of the population. In reality, its the only duty the president owed to the people of New Orleans and he failed miserably.
Actually it's up to the local governments to ask for federal help. That iis the process our government goes through. The chains of government. If it was the federal government's responsibility why even have a local and state government. In fact President Bush asked Gov. Blanco and Mayor Nagin days before to ask for federal assistance. They declined at that time. When you live in hurricane territory you would think the local and state governments would have plans when a disaster hits. It seems they didn't have a plan for Katrina. And the school buses sat idle.
It was the locals responsibility until they got SWAMPED, WIPED OUT, WASHED AWAY, ANNIHILATED while Washington DC was .......dry.
If we have a major crisis or are attacked and have to ASK for help from the President with FEMA, Homeland Security, the military or the National Guard, why have a Federal government?
Everybody knows Katrina devastated the local government, why is it so hard to believe the Bush administration failed at a time when they were needed the most?
Seems to me that the local government is the first line of defense in this type of situation then the state then the federal government.

Local government IS the first line of defense, ABSOLUTELY! But when they've been nuked by a hurricane, what's left. Bush emergency management?
