The owner should choose if the bar is smoke-free or allows smoking. That is what America was founded on – owners of establishments having the choice how they run their businesses.
Rock netroots: The liberal in me is torn between smoking as a health and environmental danger to everyone or whether a business owner has the right to make the choice under his own roof. After some thought, I have to go with the business owner because liberty overrides all limitations. The market will eventually dictate to the owner what he must do to gain more customers. I’m a non-smoker, so I refuse to enter smoke filled bars and restaurants, and choose to spend my money elsewhere. That is my choice, that is liberty, and the added plus is that the consequences from my decision will not come back to haunt me. My philosophy towards the pro-life vs pro-choice argument is very simple, I'm my-choice.
