Mark Green flips PAC money

Talk about a shell game.
Mark Green kept nearly $468,000 in contributions from political action committees that are not registered in the state. Wisconsin state law prohibits a candidate from spending contributions transferred from a federal campaign committee that are not allowed to be collected under the law. Of course, Green denies wrongdoing.
BDN Excerpt:
Green spokesperson Graul, said even if the rule is assumed to be in effect now, Green already spent the money in question while the rule was suspended.

How many times do these guys say "we already spent that particular money" like as if the money is marked. How do we know they didn't spend the "other" money when the rule was suspended? Ryan tried to pull the same thing with his Abram-payoff . Illegal contributions always mark the person on the receiving end, the money itself looks just like any other money.

And Jim Doyle is Mr. innocent? Jim Doyle is Mr. corrupt. He has a history of corruption and to try and throw Mark Green in the mix is just a typical leftie political tactic.

How can anyone defend Jim Doyle? Mark Green isn't being investigated by the state and federal agents about illegal contributions. Doyle can't be defended that's why his campaign is all about attacking Mark Green. That's all he can do.

It's not Gov. Green (yet) and he has a little better ethics than Doyle and he wouldn't put himself in the position that Doyle has put himself in time after time. Anybody that betrays the people of Wisconsin the way Jim Doyle has wouldn't be supported what so ever. This man is the poster boy for corruption and the wheels are falling off of his wagon.

Republicans attempt to swiftboat Democrats all the time by requesting Feds or the A.G. repeatedly to investigate every dollar a Dem gets while in office. Being investigated means nothing when the accusers abuse the privilege. Do it enough times and Repubs figure the D.A. will eventually find something. With Doyle they have nothing dirty on the man.... he is one superclean Gov.

In fact, Green has actually accepted known dirty money, but that doesn't mean he's corrupt. Green's got plenty of other issues, if elected he will destroy Wisconsin.

Doyle continued to receive large amounts of utility industry contributions, and then approved legislation beneficial to the industry.
Utilities and American Transmission Company, which is building a $420 million transmission line from Duluth, Minnesota to Wausau, gave Doyle $38,250 between January and June. Shortly after, Doyle signed a bill in July that forces communities to sell land to utilities for transmission line projects.

The governor raised $203,238 from individuals outside Wisconsin (see Table 2), accounting for 15 percent of the $1.38 million in total individual contributions he accepted between January and June. It was only the second time he raised more than $200,000 from outside Wisconsin during a six-month period.
Doyle accepted $26,000 from Connecticut contributors, including $20,000 from employees of the Mohegan tribe and its casino, the Mohegan Sun. The tribe has partnered with tribes in other states, like Washington, to build and manage casinos. Previously, Doyle had received $4,000 from the tribe in 2003.

The governor also accepted $9,830 from Texas contributors, including $5,950 in January from SBC Communications executives in San Antonio. The contributions came shortly before the state signed a $116 million contract in March with a group of telephone companies, including SBC, to design a new video and data network for the state and University of Wisconsin System. The project has drawn criticism from some at the UW that want a separate system developed in-house. Doyle initially said in May 2004 that the state and UW could develop separate computer networks, but then announced in August 2004 that he wanted to have the systems combined and farmed out to a private contractor.

In Indiana, Doyle accepted a first-time $4,000 contribution from Dale Conrad, head of Government Payment Services. The company contracts with government agencies to process credit card payments from the public.

Yeah cutting taxes and reforming the voting system in Wisconsin will certainly destroy Wisconsin.

See what I mean? All governors receive contributions...are they legal?...illegal? Whatever they are, lets talk about it because, its an election year. Good politicians accept clean money or do they refuse it? The system stinks and Doyle is willing to change it, but Green likes things just the way they are.
Green has made a ton of possible promises, but after hearing his plans he's made them impossible to keep. Somebody else may be able to pull 'em off, but not him.

Doyle isn't going to change it. Don't believe that he will. He may say he will but, he will just stroke you some more because it's an election year. Mark Green has made alot of promises but, that's what an election year brings. I'm really sick and tired of opening up the paper and seeing the Doyle administration under investigation for illeagal campaign contributions and the illegal contracts that have been going on. This looks bad for Wisconsin and Doyle is the face of Wisconsin. Madison needs a change.

Lou Kaye said...

We both know something is wrong and changes need to be made, but as close as we could get to putting blame where it belongs, we are on different sides. Doyle is the face of Wisconsin, but I believe the legislature is the face of corruption. If, and that's a big if the legislature were to change and go on a real crusade to reform state election campaigns and lobbiest reform, Doyle has at least pledged to support it, Green has not. So, no matter what reform takes place and whether he is a crook or not, Green won't go along. I can't vote for someone like that.

Reform does need to be addressed and the voting system also needs to be addressed. Jim Doyle has vetoed evry voter ID bill that has come accross his desk. Yet he doesn't have a plan of his own. The Mcain Feingold bill was a terrible bill and has actually made things worse off. Voter fraud is terrible in this state and Doyle turns a blind eye when asked about it.

Lou Kaye said...

Compared to election campaign reform, lobbiest reform particularly in Washington and the influence of corporate money throughout all branches of government-voter ID fraud is relatively minor. I see a bigger picture of vote fraud emerging from the centralization of new vote-gathering technologies, not from state ID's.

Why is it the demorats oppose the voter ID bill? I think it maybe because they would loose votes if they were for it. It's amazing to me that you can't open a bank account without a photo ID but we can register to vote for the leader of this country without one.

Looks like the democrats showed their true colors on Tuesday by bringing back the political whip Jeff Thomas. Thomas against Ryan hummm let me make a prediction. Ryan will get 80% of the votes. Jeff Thomas is the best you democrats can muster up? LMAO

Lou Kaye said...

I would admit that BIG MONEY will probably win. Ryans got a ton of special interest money. People with a couple thousand dollars in campaign money don't stand a chance. Next to Green and Gard, Ryan is one of the best Bush rubberstampers in Congress. Wisconsin would be better off without him.

Seems Doyle changed the law days before green switched over his money from his other account. Seems that Doyle thinks he can influence the laws. It's amazing how arrogant this man is. Mark Green did nothing wrong. It's Doyle that has been bought by campaign contributors. The mayor of Milwaukee did the same thing that Mark Green did. Was he breaking the law?
