Gazette supports lower costs, not Feingold

Are pigs flying? Just when I thought I’ve seen it all the Janeville Gazette wrote an editorial today supporting an idea of Russ Feingold’s! Yep, that loner maverick has struck a chord with the powers that be, not because he is a strong, principled, fiercely patriotic and reasonable politician, but because he is floating a health care plan that could save businesses like the Gazette – big money. Now you are talking the Gazette’s language.

But just to be sure, the paper didn’t want to appear like some pro-choice tree hugger, so they wasted a paragraph letting people know that according to some ranking system based on congressional power broking, Feingold ranked low on the totem poll.

The rankings do not take into account a lawmaker's success in earmarking funds for the home district, or the value of constituent service. Besides, I don’t think I want a good ol’ boy as my Senator or President, I’ve had enough of that already. Don’t drop your subscriptions yet you diehard self-righteous liberal bashers, the Gazette doesn’t support Feingold, only his idea that could enable the Gazette to cut their costs of employees health care.

Feingold is preaching to his liberal base. He is a leftie that is way out there and he doesn't have a snowball chance in hell to be President Feingold. To far left for America. Maybe France would be a good fit for this socialist.

According to the right, everything Feingold says or does is for his own benefit, his extreme base or for publicity. In actuality, Feingold has stood alone (not the way to win popularity contests)for the traditional American principles our country was founded on. He is unique and I think that just frosts many in Congress who don't deserve to be there themselves. As a Democrat, I'm attracted to the courage he's shown, a trait the Archie Bunkers of the world fear in people. On the other side, I used to think McCain had these qualities, but unfortunately he left those in Viet Nam.

Louis is right, Feingold does have the courage of his convictions. A rare thing on the political scene today.
