Nuns On The Bus Receive Rock Star Welcome In Janesville

On a sunny but sweltering afternoon in Janesville, the "Nuns on the Bus Tour" pulled onto Main Street to a rousing ovation and a standing crowd of at least 300 people. The nuns got off the bus and proceeded to march into Paul Ryan's office to offer the congressman what they have said is an alternative "faithful budget" created by 65 offices in the Christian, Jewish and Muslim traditions. Paul Ryan of course was absent as usual. His staff collected the nuns proposal.

The congressman has definitely found himself trapped inside his own rhetorical constructs when he proclaimed that his government budget proposal was based on teachings of the Catholic faith. The nuns and a consortium of Catholic bishops obviously disagree with the Randing congressman, but Ryan's blind followers now have to ask themselves if his "Catholic-based" budget corresponds squarely with anyone who believes in the separation of church and state. And, if his budget is not based on Catholicism even though he insists it is, will they stand with the bishops and nuns to help set the record straight?

Ryan knows when it's not the right time to stick around. No billionaires - no Paul Ryan either.
