Paul Ryan Outraised In Home District by Congressional Opponent

According to this story from the Janesville Gazette, Paul Ryan's spokesperson, Kevin Seifert, considers Democratic opponent Rob Zerban's request for debates nothing more than a "stunt" and implies that Zerban should explain his positions on critical issues and articulate solutions to the problems facing the nation. Knock - knock. Hello? Hello? Isn't that precisely what debates are for?

But if the latest fundraising numbers reported by the Zerban campaign are any sign of his surging popularity, it is also a sign of rejection for Paul Ryan and his 14 year stranglehold on the district. Perhaps district constituents have already made up their mind on the absentee congressman.

The third quarter fundraising numbers are in.

Zerban’s campaign announced Thursday that it raised $770,000 in the third quarter of 2012, outpacing Rep. Paul Ryan.

Ryan’s House campaign raised $566,743 from 2,700 individual donors with a largely absent candidate.
