Huge Win For Government. Establishment Republicans Fulfill Obama’s Legacy, But Will Foxconn?

February 2008: At a campaign stop at the GM plant in Janesville, then candidate-for-president Barack Obama said, "I believe that if our government is there to support you, and give you the assistance you need to re-tool and make this transition, that this plant will be here for another hundred years."

Keep in mind that Obama did not say, ‘if “he” is there,’ or if democrats are there, or republicans, or labor unions or right-to-work, or whether the president is there to support you (us). Obama made a clear, yet general and very precise statement in 2008.

Obama said, “IF our government is there to support you.”

A lot of people to this day still believe in that, including most republicans despite spending the last eight years obstructing and refusing to allow government to be there for us under Obama.

But there they are in living color. Republicans from every level of Big Government; from State to Federal from the House, to the Senate to the Executive Branch, have taken center stage to boast that government is here to support us and provide the help to re-tool and make this transition. Just like Obama said.

Their message is clear. Government is here. For us. Now. Government. But now they call it winning.
